Cambodia!! This place is incredible. I can't begin to explain how friendly the locals are here, everyone is amazingly welcoming and the little kids are cute as pie. Getting here was sort of a pain in the bum but well worth it. After sitting on the slow train for 6 hours (which i paid under a pound for) getting a visa was the next hurdle...A tuk tuk tried to mug us off by taking us to this dodgy little shack and charging us 1000baht and then when we refused he drove us NEXT DOOR!! So we finally get to the border and the real, official border police try to charge us double too-corruption. Anyway eventually we just paid 100baht extra and then jumped onto a free bus to the bus depot. I should probably explain that ús and 'we' consists of Nikki and Zam who we met on the train. He is an awesome guy from Indonesia but lived in Singapore. Anyways at the depot we met a few travelers from N.Z and after the 5 hour bus journey we all took a tuk tuk to the same place...'Garden Village Guesthouse' We're paying $2 a night to stay here...it's crazy. So the past couple of days have been crazy hectic. On Saturday we were up at 4am and went to watch the sunrise at ankor wat then went round all the crazy temples, including where tomb raider was filmed-which was siiiick. Haha, that night we got taken by our cute tuk tuk driver En to this little village and it was magical. We wondered around, ate snake...talked to the locals and then climbed this mountain to watch the sunset. Yesterday we cycled all the way to ankor wat and around it with an american girl Lucy we picked up along the way and checked out some more temples. I took an elephant up the hill to watch the sunset which was out of this world and then we chilled out at the rooftop bar and night market last night. Today's been fun, been lounging about a bit trying to unwind since i've been go go go go for so long...sat under a tree and wrote some postcards and my diary...I need to do some laundry URGENTLY! Anyway these entries are really hard to do...I feel like i'm just listing off the major points and leaving out some of the details which are making this trip so special but what can you do! Still can't find a computer here with a slot for my SD card so pictures will have to wait- i have some really nice ones though! Missing everyone lots xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
